LifeArmor is a comprehensive learning and self-management tool to assist members of the military community with common mental health concerns. Designed for your Android device, LifeArmor is portable and provides information and assistance at the touch of a button. Touch-screen technology allows the user to browse information on 17 topics, including sleep, depression, relationship issues, and post-traumatic stress. Brief self-assessments help the user measure and track their symptoms, and tools are available to assist with managing specific problems. Videos relevant to each topic provide personal stories from other service members, veterans, and military family members.
The Parenting2Go App is designed to provide convenient tools to help you strengthen your parenting skills and reconnect with your children. The App addresses challenges that come with parenting children of all ages and backgrounds and includes advice on how to handle every day parenting situations as well as those unique to military life. It can be used alone or in combination with the free online Parenting for Service Members & Veterans course (www.veterantraining.va.gov/parenting/).
Mindfulness Coach was designed to help Veterans, Servicemembers and others learn how to practice mindfulness. Mindfulness means paying attention, on purpose, to whatever is going on in the present moment without passing judgment on it.
With the Moving Forward mobile application (App) you can access on-the-go tools and learn problem solving skills to overcome obstacles and deal with stress. The App is designed for Veterans and Servicemembers, but is useful for anyone with stressful problems. It is especially helpful in managing challenges such as: returning to civilian life, balancing school and family life, financial difficulties, relationship problems, difficult career decisions, and coping with physical injuries. It may be used alone or in combination with the free Moving Forward online course (www.veterantraining.va.gov/movingforward/).
Operation Reach Out
Military Community Awareness - introduces OPERATION REACH OUT, a smartphone app aimed at preventing suicide among military personnel and veterans. Developed by a team of suicide prevention experts, under the supervision of the primary author, Lawrence Shapiro, Ph.D.. OPERATION REACH OUT is designed to: * Encourage people to reach out for help when they are having suicidal thoughts. * Help those who are concerned about family members, spouses, or fellow service members who may be suicidal. * Provide a personal contact help center. * Provide activities to help people who are depressed stay connected to others.
